OHVCMG Spring Conference, presented with COMUG

Ohio Valley CMG and Central Ohio Mainframe Users Group are teaming up to deliver you a full day of great mainframe performance content on May 1st, 2014.  If you’re a CMG member who is not a mainframe professional, stay tuned: we’re planning a fall conference of non-mainframe content.

The primary meeting location will be the IBM campus in Dublin Ohio, with the satellite location being Progressive Insurance in Mayfield Village Ohio.  Software On Z and IBM have sponsored breakfast and lunch, allowing us to reduce our registration cost to $0.  Yes, that is a zero.  The hassle of filling out an expense report is not a valid excuse for not attending!  Moreover, we’re also making the live webcast of the event freely available as well.  We hope you’ll join us in one of our two locations in order to get the benefit of networking with your peers, but we understand if you just can’t make it out of the office.

No matter how you attend, you will get to hear some great presentations by some great speakers.  Steve Guendert is going to start out the day by updating us on the possibilities that FICON channel extension enable. Nancy Pearlman and Scott Chapman are going to team up to explain what an IBM ELA is and why Capacity Planning is so important to organizations signing ELA.

Software On Z will provide their perspective on managing MLC costs and then during lunch tell us about the products they have to help organizations achieve MLC costs savings.

After lunch we’re very pleased to have Glenn Anderson of IBM present “Top New z/OS Performance Functions Every Sysprog Should Understand”. If you’ve seen Glenn Anderson present before, you know you won’t want to miss this session!

We’ll close out the day with demos of two free IBM tools to help mainframe capacity planners and performance analysts. Allan Ballian will demo zPCR and Mohsen Abrishami will demo the new zBNA.
